New Homemade Tank Stand and Hood Combo

Ok, I had to share this. Before graduation, hubby asked me what I wanted as a graduation gift, and I asked for a stand and new hood. I was thinking he would get one like we already had on the other tank. Turns out, you can't order the Sedona in the size we wanted apparently.

Sooo, he told me he was going to build it himself. (Internally I cringed, but then thought I didn't want to hurt his feeling so said nada).

This is what he built!! I am so super impressed.

He built it all out of real wood from Home Depot, with real wood moulding with ivy leaves on the stand and hood. The hood has built in dowel rods that holds my light perfectly. And the door is one of the predone kitchen cabinet doors in the Fairfield style.

I love it, what do you guys think?

Oh, he wanted me to say it cost him under $50 total, door and moulding included. Its a 56 column tank.

as a bench carpender i want to say good work. looks great. i am not a big fan of the molding but... just kidding it looks great.

The molding is my fault, LOL. It reminded me of The Lord Of The Rings... some of the elven rings were made to look like entwined ivy. I read it when I was like 7... guess it had a bigger impact on me then I thought. :lol:
