has anyone tried these Koralia's on 3/4" glass? I dont think it will work, so i am stuck out from the fun.

So after reading this thread i am really interested in getting this pump for my mixed 75...
But the question is... what should i get?
Originally i was going to get 2 K1 s, as of right now i have a mag 700 for a return and a mj1200 (apparently im not used to a lot of current in my tank because its always seemed like an ok amount but it really isnt)
Now i was wondering how 2 K2s would be in a 75 mixed?
Also is there still an issue with the call backs?
But the question is... what should i get?

Maybe not, the inside mount also uses a large suction cup in addition to the magnet. In fact, you can remove the outside magnet and they still stick good using just the suction cup in my tank.
One thing I thought was that you could re-position them from the outside just by moving the magnet around, but you can't because the inside suction cup sticks to the glass pretty good.

Forget it, my K4 barely holds on to my 1/2" glass.
Have you considered the Tunze 6025? Some simple mods will get it to pump 1250gph at 7W, half the size of K4, much stronger magnets at a similar price range.
Of course I know price is no objection to you

yep!
i have the same experience with 1/2" glass. it 'barely' hangs onto the glass. i wouldnt even remotely trust the suction cup for long term stability...it will eventually degrade and give no suction...hence all the holding power will be on the magnet in the future.
i would go with a 6025 mod as well! dont bother with the 6045. a modded 6025 does the same for less! they have great magnets!!!

In both Nanostream and Koralia cases, I would suggest against putting them on a wavetimer. They are both designed for continuous operation so that is the best way for them.

Just received my K3's today from DFS, they are back on sale again at 20% off. They do have the ceramic shaft's on them. I bought three, and one didn't work when plugged in, so after looking it over, found the shaft broke. Of course DFS took care of things. Not sure if the ceramic shafts will be better or not, time will tell.

gosh...I just ordered two K2's for my 29g...hope it isn't too much flow for my tank!!!

I was thinking of putting one in each rear corner of my tank and aiming them down slightly and angle them towards the front of the tank at like a 45 degree angle (so the flow meets in the middle on the front of the tank)...would this work? I have my MJ900's aimed like that now and it seems to evenly disperse the flow throughout the tank as well as keeps detritus kicked up off my substrate.
