New Ideas we can start now to get the Club name out...

So my GF was sitting here thinking about how we can help our community and get the name of the club out...

With the upcoming holidays, she thought we could maybe do a food can drive for Thanksgiving and a toy donation for Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanza/etc. It's a great way to spread cheer through the holiday season from the club to those less fortunate.

And she even offered to decorate the box for the food cans...

It's free to post in the classified sections of the herald and sunsentinel too. So maybe drop an add in there as well.

I would love to do this......maybe we could even get a couple drop locations.......one at Reef Life....One a Exotic Aquatic.....etc.....not only would it help people but would get people in the business's door.....win win situation.

Great idea. When I used to be a "biker" and member of the Broward Eagles M/C, we supported Outreach Broward Childrens Shelters and bought presents etc. for each shelter at Christmas time. Was a great cause and sure made some kids' eyes light up.....

Now that's thinking outside the glass box... great idea!!! We could even do one somewhere that's not fish related, and set up a small tank. To make it worthwhile, we'd have to do it for a few days. Anyone have a nano or 20-30 gallon with a stand that wouldn't be hard to move? I'd be glad to volunteer some time after work or during the weekends to sit with the tank and talk about the club.

We might consider buying a couple of key words on google. when you type FMAS today, it brings you to an out of date web site. I found no links to HERE. Send me suggested key-words and I'll check it out and find out how much $ they cost.

Also, if the site is discontinued, we should forward any hits to here.

Maybe a few LFSs can have boxs or something to collect these items and whichever locations wants to have a drop off box we can list the places.

Maybe we could have LFS's hand out a limited number of free 6 month memberships to FMAS to new buyers? Perhaps a card with a map and meetiing dates. It’s a nice symbiotic relationship.

I think a cross marketing plan through LFS that are members could bring the organization some exposure to people that have no clue as to the existence of any type of support group. It could be beneficial to all concerns.

We need a flyer on the wall of every LFS that's in that excel spreadsheet going around. That's a start. Also getting the website running would be very beneficial.

Currently the club has "postcards" with information. Some of the stores around town give these cards out for us. I think the club is growing at a good steady pace right now. I think a lot of club growth is dependant on club members telling/bringing friends.

In AR most officer and active member had a license plate frame and we made a point to wear our tshirts/polo every time we visited a LFS.
