I acquired this yellow tang about 2 to 3 weeks ago and now hes not swimming right or being as perky as before. He is still eating but not very enthusiastically like he was. I have been feeding him sushi seaweed sheets daily. Am I doing somthing wrong? Now instead of constantly darting around he is staying much more still toward the top few inches of water unless someone walks by. Ideas???
I feel time is fast running away for him :(
Ill attach pics....

You can see he is pale around his head and his gills are forward more than normal. Any help? Water Params are norm.

Looks extremly skinny try feeding him other stuff like flake mysid spirulina brine. He might have internal parasites. I would try to power feeding him

That tang is too skinny. You want to add selcon to your nori. Also add mysis shrimp soaked in selcon as well. Feed more often.

He was pigging out on seaweed nori the other day idk and today he looks like this. i offered him some food now. should i leave the lights off and let him sleep more or less or keep them on and encourage him to eat?

what happens when someone walks by?

You probably acquired a sick fish already. Something is not right in your setup. Check PH,trates, and especially ammonia. Yellow tangs are usually very hardy, I kept at least 2 in the past in which i rescued from a negligent owner. Both tangs lived long with me and was fragged forward to other reefers.

Mix in some mysis to entice him to eat. Try putting a mirror next to him to also to entice his activity level. Sometimes this makes the fish eat because they have to get bigger to fight competition (worked with my mandarin).

haha like the mirror idea. Sounds good. Today he had a bit more color. still not normal. Any not really gliding around as normal. When someone walks by he still dives for the rocks as normal but comes out after a bit.
