I thought triggers weren't reef safe? I love these fish, I'd love to keep a trigger!

Thanks. Well triggers are not "reef safe" for different reasons, but mostly because they can eat inverts and small fish. Ive had/have good experience with niger tiggers, and the blue jaw is one of a few types of triggers that have a pretty good success rate with being "reef safe". From what I've seen and read, it seems the blue jaw and pink tail are the most calm and non aggressive which makes them better suited for a reef. Niger triggers are usually ok until they get larger as far as temperament goes. All triggers come with a risk obviously, but I feel if these 3 types are well fed and housed correctly there is a pretty good chance they will be okay.

Sweet! He\'s very handsome and huge.

My blue jaws are in a tank with a cleaner shrimp, 3 peppermint shrimp, baby pom pom crab, and a harlequin shrimp. They may or may not have tasted some Micromussa, someone in the tank did. They have definitely been pretty reef safe.

That's awsome! But you may want to be cautious as they grow. You may see your shrimp disappear quite quickly lol. I have no shrimp or crabs due to my super large active mystery wrasse and marine betta.

Saw him last night. Good looking fish Randy. Thanks for the SPS.

I love how the wife was asking about your VorTech but didn't realize that I've got one on my tank now. Oblivious!
