new led lights

I'm trying out an led system on my tank. they look pretty good to me. very close to my 250watt mh phoenix bulbs. actually its tough to tell them apart at a distance. the leds are a little brighter but I think that is my mh bulbs are old.

In this shot the led fixture is on the left and the mh is in the middle and on the right.

This is a shot under metal halide.

This is a shot 2 days later under leds, it is the same section as the photo above but the anemonies are more exposed today. maybe they like the new light.

You can use my light meter to measure its PAR if you can bring it to LIRA meeting this coming Friday, I also have 4 different LED light fixtures for you and members to compare side by side.

As far as the white and blue being interlaced, there are two options. seperate blue and white (how some are pictured on the site) or alternating every other. I got alternating. If they were seperate I would have had control over white and blue independently. The way mine is set up the whole unit is on or off.
This unit does not have all the fancy features of other units on the market. I can not control the color temp, and it does not have a dimmer or timer. Although dimmer and timer were options, I didn't feel that I needed them.

I'm going to give the light a few weeks but I plan on getting 2 more if the corals seem to do well under them. I asked about a quantity discount. Here is what they said.


(1) if order quantity is 10 unit, we are able to offer 5% discount : 179.61USD/pcs (shipping 264.71USD for 10 unit) DHL delivery
(2) if order quantity is 20 unit, we are able to offer 7% discount : 176.55USD/pcs (shipping 507.43USD for 20 unit) DHL delivery

that doesn't include the cost of western union. I checked and there fee for the transaction should be $26 for 10 units.
