Ok, got the food today and tried it right away.
Initial impressions:
- High quality pellets/powder. Very dense.
- The macro and micro foods are exactly the same. The only difference is the size. The macro food is significantly larger than Fauna Marin LPS pellets (the small size).
- The main ingredients are (in order of decreasing concentration): Whole Antarctic Krill Meal, Whole Herring Meal, Whole Wheat Flour, Algae Meal, Beta Carotene, Spirulina, Fish Oil, Alfalfa, Garlic, Vegetable and Fruit Extract*
* Yeah, sounds strange, but if you think about it, a lot of people also feed garlic extract, garlic oil, etc.
- The guaranteed analysis is:
50% protein, 12% fat
(Compare to FM Ultra Min F: 55% protein, 14% fat. FM Ultra LPS: 75% protein, 8% fat, 12% carbs)
- The macro feed pellets are large, heavy and are best suited for large LPS like Rhizos, larger Dendros and extra large Tubastrea. These corals seem to respond well to the food. For smaller LPS, they must be soaked for a while to soften up. FM Ultra LPS is softer.
- The micro feed reminds me of FM Ultra Min F. My Crinoid feather star went crazy for this stuff. Feeding arms were fully extended. Gorgs show feeding response too.
That's all I've got for now!
