New light question

Just replaced my 10k 250watt MH bulb with a new 20k. Just wondering if I should reduce the lighting period to acclimate my tank to the new light or will it be ok to just continue running for the same amount of time each day? Also, if I do need to acclimate it, what should the hours be reduced to and at what rate should I increase the light.
Thanks

Im no expert( not even close) but I do remember reading that it was best to reduce the lighting period when making a change to your lights. I think this was more for difference in watts but seems it should also be done for any change to your lights?

I would think that with it going from a higer PAR(10k) to a lower PAR(20k) you wouldn't have to.... unless the old bulb was REALLY old and was hardly putting out any light.

Corals adapt to lower light much better than higher light, so you should be alright.
