It's been a long time since I posted on this forum so I thought I would show off my latest update for my tank. The system is about eight years old now. I upgraded all my AI Sols to Vegas. Since the Vegas need to be closer to the water surface, I needed to re-do the entire top of the tank. All the hanging fixtures are gone and I really like the new look. The wiring for everything goes down the chase to the basement. The lights themselves are fantastic. Have a look.

I don't think the video does the tank justice...its outstanding!

I went to u tube and switched to 720p...much better!

Was that a Dachshund hanging with the tank? :)

wow tank still looks amazing. I've been drooling over it for years. What are the tank dimensions?

Everything seems to be doing really well under the new lighting regime. Getting rid of the hanging lamps has really cleaned up the tank's overall profile. Can you give us some of the key points that made you choose the Vegas?

This has always been one of my favourite tanks in such an exquisite setting. Thx for sharing.

Thanks! It was a no brainer for me to go with the Vegas. First of all, the cost of upgrading my Sols to Vegas was half of what buying a new light would be. The ability to upgrade the lights is one of the reasons I went with the Sols in the first place. With so many lights, the investment is significant and being able to keep up with the improving technology over time clinched it for me.
Secondly, I borrowed a Vega and hung it next to one of the Sols over my tank for a comparison. I really liked the look. I had to modify a lot over the tank but it was well worth it. Just as with the Sols I had no acclimation issues. The lights run at 100% for 5 hours each day with a 4 hour ramp up and down.
