I hope to get my new lights up , and running today . I built the reflectors , and have them in the rack . I hope to remove the old lights , from my canopy , and install the new light rack today . I also have to figure out the new ballast placement , and connect all the wiring . I will be running the 175 watt 15,000 K Iwaskis X3 , + 4 X 160 watt VHO Actinics .

I hope these lights give me better color . Ted

Sounds good, Ted. Let us know what you think of the light from the Iwasakis. Couple a pics wouldn't hurt.:D

Sorry Ted, I had to do it....:D

As of 3pm we had the lights and ballasts inplace. Just need to wire them up...

Do you have any where better to keep your ballasts than screwed over water & close to the heat of the bulbs? How about making a ventilated cabinet next to the tank to keep the ballasts?

There is a full canopy below the ballast . The canopy is between the ballast , and the top of the tank . When I am done the ballast will be enclosed , with a vent fan . Ted

Ted,

Everything looks great. The only thing in all the pics that I saw that needs immediate and serious attention is that thing on Paul's head! Go Rays!

Hey Ted,
do you still have the lift for the canopy? Also, did this make it heavier or lighter? How much does your canopy weigh? You made your own lift right? Where did you get the parts from and how hard was it? KR
