Have you been wondering what’s happening with DRC?
We are currently working on a lot of new ideas along with fixing some broken or outdated items.

One of the major initiative's is a new DRC website. We hope to have the new site up sometime in February. Behind the scenes we have a lot of little projects going on. For the site we are working on a New Logo, New Forum, Green Ideas, Save a Reef, discounts, door Prizes, raffles, sponsorship and much more. These new enhancement are going to take time to implement, so be patient.

In The mean time we would like your ideas for a new logo. You don't have to be a member to submit an idea. You don't have to be an artist. If you have an idea post it. If you are artistic and can create a concept/logo, post it. We want to see what you've got. All ideas must be you own. We can't accept any image borrowed from the internet, and you must own or have the rights to any picture used. It can be anyting from art to cartoon to Photoshop collage or a combo of styles.

Please post the submissions on this forum. The new logo needs to be ready for the new site, so we will need the logo by January 26, 2007.

We have a lot of artistic reefers, don't be afraid post away. If you have an idea and are not artistic, pm me and I will get you some artistic help.

If you are able to draw or use photoshop, please pm me. We could use some help with some ideas we are working on for the new website.

Logo Idea

Logo Idea

Well, I threw a couple of quick simple logos together to see what people think. These will be incorporated into the website banner that I am also working on....

I just threw the text in a general font to give the idea of what I was looking to say but will be getting a different font for the finished submission.

Just wanted to get some opinions.

We would like to have both. The site one is more pressing but we would like to have the same image or part of the image to use on business cards and such.

Well Ill see what I can do with both, but Ill work on the banner first. Anyone have any ideas on images to put in other than the state of Delaware and fish/corals/inverts or any pictures that they would like included?

Well, now I realize just how long it has been since ive done any work with Photo Shop... threw this banner together quick but I know that someone who has more expierence could do better... was thinking of putting the state of delaware in the place of the L in, well, delaware. Not sure how to blend the edges but something could be put on the sides as well.

Well, I liked Al's idea so I just redid it with a little different yellow color and I do think it looks better with Al's suggestion.

I also put together this web banner for the top of our site. I will need the exact dimensions we are working with, but I kinda like this one. Obviously I am open to suggestions.

Please feel free to ad your comments and opinions. I am very good at receiving constructive criticism and value everyones input!

Nice now we are cooking. Keep the ideas coming. If Feburary's meeting we will vote on the winner. We will also get the officers together to see about a prize.

I tink the water to the coral looks great. Can we alter the text style a bit? I like the yellow better then my cream color. The only other thing I think needs some tweeking is the top of the wave, it seems a littke busy. Maybe not as many crests?

Just a quick thought.
Font and color can be changed
The black background can be deleted and the logo could be placed then on a banner (a reef or so)

Hi Max Reefer,

I like your logo design, But I agree with AL on the DRC. How about putting DRC above the pic so it can be seen? Just a thought.

Just make sure that any images used arent copyrighted... dont want that to come back and bite you.

I am pretty safe here as the pictures I am using are from my tank.
For the Logo:
Here is the change. As I said Font and Color can be changed. Also if you have a nice picture and want to use that I can use that in the circle and apply the filter on it.
Attached also a banner I wanted to use for my blog. Maybe we could use something similar and apply the logo in there.
Will play around a bit more to get a few new examples. I am not a pro here but will do my best
