New Mag 5 Pump rattle?

HELP! my new mag 5 pump ran perfectly for about ten minutes, then started rattling and, more importantly, NOT PUMPING!

no pieces/parts blown everywhere, but the impeller seems loose.

thoughts?

I had a Mag 7 do that, but it was 3 years old. I got a new impeller, because it was broken, but what happened was the indent in the pump where the impeller sits got worn from the bad impeller and the new one sat in there with a lot of wobble. The wobble caused a huge rattling noise. I ended up replacing the pump, but like I said it had thousands of hours on it, not new. If I start hearing noise again, I'll check the impeller so it doesn't wear like it did before.

you also might have a broken shaft. I did on a Mag 9. If it is get on the Danner Mag Drive site, E Mail them and it will be taken care of, Or just try and exchange it from where it was purchased

exchange not successful. i am going to write to Danner, explain that it only ran for about 10 minutes, and ask them to exchange it. if they wont, i am going to glue this one solid and use it as a spare.
