New magnifica from reefhotspot

I bought this guy a week ago and it has been touch and go with several cycles of deflation/inflation. Today it seems to be doing better, no deflation. I have been feeding it small portions of mysis daily and it has been eating, so I'm hoping it will pull through. I guess only time will tell. Also, I am looking for a mate for my 1 remaining nigripes. The other one performed acrobatic suicide. I presume it is a female since it has been dominant over my now deceased other one for around 5 to 6 months any advice or help on either subject would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have pictures when it arrived to you?

Take a look of my two last thread to watch what happened to me about my orders of two Mag from RHS

Yeah here it is about 3 hours into the tank. It looked pretty good when I initially got it, but that was as good as it has looked since then. It has seemed as if it was on a steady decline except for today which is encouraging.

what kind of flow is it getting mine wasnt doing so hot until i kicked up the flow big time it had 6 koralias pointed at it in a 3 ft 60 gal my clown could barely stay in it at first cause he was so small but as he grew everything was fine

My one just deflate one time and not in full, after I feed it mysis for the first time yesterday. It was deflate about 2 hours, but after that it was like always.
I feed it only one time after 6 days. And it is still under window screening.

Post you water parameters and lights

Parameters are as follow pH 8.0, nitrates 0, phosphates 0, temp is between 78 and 80. I believe flow is not an issue as I have mags on either side of this nem
thriving. Perhaps my lighting may be overwhelming it and I am cosidering shading or restricting the length of time it gets with the lights on. I currently have 1 400 watt radium mogul in the center and two 14K 150 watt hqi's flanking either side of it for approximately 10 hours a day all over a 42 inch tank. It is directly underneith the radium and sandwiched between the 14 k's

Post your Kh, Ca, Mg and salinity. I think Ph 8.0 is a little down it is better is you can rise to 8.2 - 8.3

About the light , Between the lights(T5s) and my one a put 2 layers of window screening to acclimate it. I removed one of the layer yesterday and after the second week or so I will remove the other one.

Kh is at 9, calcium 440, magnesium which admittedly I haven't tested for quite some time was at 1280, specific gravity is kept at 1.026. The pH of my tank could be higher it was hard to tell because I was using one of those pretty vague tetra kits. I honestly don't believe it to be a water quality issue. I think I will try limiting the light hitting this nem and see if this helps.

For a week, I would say it looks pretty good Winwood. I think you're right to limit the light, either by reducing the photoperiod or using flyscreen, or both.

5Star, yours looks fine.
