After our first Mantis died almost a year ago we finally got a replacement today.
Any help on positive ID would be helpful.

Thanks for the quick reply. That is kinda what we thought.

One more question I can't seem to find is where does Odontodactylus scyllarus come from?

Thanks Again.

They are widely distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific ranging from Guam to the east African coast and as far north as Southern Japan and as far south as Brisbane, Australia. Most currentaly available in the aquarium trade are coming out of Indonesia, but Sri Lanka exports many to Europe.

They typically live at depths from 5 to 30 m and burrow in soft, shelly substrates. Technically, they are not a coral reef species.

Food generally consists of gastropods, bivalves, crabs and worms, although they will also take octopus, fish and even urchins.
