New mantis utopia

Hey guys, just picked up a new Lysiosquillina maculata. So far he seems to stay out and dig pits. I fully expected him to dig tunnels but he seems to prefer just sitting on the sand pretending to be in a tunnel haha. We're on day 3 and he eats well. Thanks to Gangsta Nemo for this find!

Here is a pic of Ganksta Nemo's OS in action.

Speaking of more photos. As I was writing this original post I look over and guess whos roaming around... So I decided to feed him some frozen krill again. One thing I noticed is he swims around with his food. Cool pics.

Hehe, I don't have any FTs yet, his tank is a 10gal with a layer of live sand and fine white sand now. Has 15lbs of liverock, 4 damsels of yesterday, and calurpa that I harvested from my fuge tonight. It's still a work in progress and I am experimenting. I post FTs when I get it looking right and cloud free:rollface:

Well Gangsta Nemo a local friend of mine picked him up from someone who saw him in a barren container in a LFS. Poor mantis almost didn't make it as he wasn't looking too good, but we saved him.

Yea this LM I picked up from Gangsta Nemo who got him from a guy he knew who found him in a pet shop in poor condition. Ganksta Nemo has his own LM which I found for him a few months ago.

cool picture. I didnt know there are so many different types of mantis shrimp.. Im not going to lie but they are very unique looking almost scary like a praying mantis.. ironic

No doubt. The Stomatopod has drawn my attention like no other aquatic creature. I fully intend on having many more in the future. I have a fully stocked 90gal reef and a 24gal fuge with seahorses and 7 species of macro algae. I tell you nothing is more relaxing to watch than my 90 reef, buuut, nothing is more cool and intriguing than to watch my mantis tank.
