New Ocelleris

Hello,

Just added my first fish to my new tank and it is a lovely pair of Ocelleris. Everyone seemed to be fine for a couple days and just last night and this morning the larger one (they were both little so I don't know if it's fair to call it a her yet) has started swimming near the sand bed and they both stay fairly close to the glass. the smaller one has stayed higher up and just seems more active.

I check all levels and everything is perfect 0 ppm on ammonia, nitrite and nitrates. I did a 25 percent water change today ( 40 gallon breeder ) and for about an hour the larger one was spunky again. Up and about exploring the tank etc.

It had been eating fine till today when it seemed to skip breakfast. There are no outward changes in appearance although it seems to be breathing a bit faster then the smaller one.

I am in a wait an see mode for now. I have seen some many posts all over the net about funny clown behavior so I am hopeful it's just her getting acclimatized. what else could I do? what more should I look for?

Thanks
Ari

How long has your tank been setup, what are your readings (ammonia/nitrite mainly), how did you acclimate them?

If there is no ammonia or nitrite, and you gave the fish a proper acclimation (matched temperature and dripped tank water into their water for 30min/1hour) than I wouldn't worry to much about it yet.

If she is still eating but not super active she may be just settling into the lower portion of the aquarium. Did she eat when you fed her tonight?
