So I got a random email from orphek yesterday. It could be because I am a past customer or it could be because of the threads I have commented on. I am not sure. I am going to paste the part of the email bellow and the pictures because this single pendent design has me intrigued. I have some questions as I am sure you all might as well. my first on is does it only come in blue. I checked their website and did not find any info on it. so wether I get in trouble for leaking this I guess we will find out. anyways here it is.

EMAIL (edited) I did not want to release prices and such. this is just the discription of the product.

Just as we did with the launch of the PR-156, we are offering another incredible discount on our newely re-designed DIF-100B. The DIF-100b delivers a high PUR 420-460 nm blue light that provides insane color enhancement to corals, literally making them glow!

Packing the same amount of power as a 400w halide but with must less risk of photoinhibition, the DIF-100b with 120 degree lens offers 36"x36" coverage with only 12" of suspension height!

The DIF series fixtures are waterproof, rustproof, self-contained, UL, CE, and ROHS certified. Optional accessories include lenses and waterproof extension cables. Our DIF series is by far the most advanced and practical LED pendant!

If you're been looking for improved color, fluorescence, or just a bit more 'blue', our new DIF-100 fixture is what you want, and 100% of the light emitted is photosynthetically useable for coral, so this is not just for color, but also for growth! (your choice of lens angle, although 120 degree is usually the most practical).

Pics? of course! here they are! I think it is cool looking personaly

nice to see you chiming in to this thread bmco. I have been trying to search for a review and obviously you are the only one who has a direct experience with orphek's DIF model.

What is your opinion having the DIF 100 as a replacement light for a 3x2x2 feet tank?

As you can see, I use it as an addition to other fixtures.
I use it to get some blue tint for few hours a day.
I think that you can get good coverage for your thank though.

It's a monster. It's a bit larger and heavier than I expected. It's a par beast. Great penetration. Clams no probs bottom of a 32" deep tank

Is it the only light you run? could we get an FTS please? Finding info on these is painstaking and you seem to be the only active user. Thanks for the reply

Not solo. I use it to provide six hrs of max light. I have a cube. With an island of rockwork towards the center back. So if I center a single large light unit over tank I cook stuff on the rock or I don't get enough light to bottom. My solution was led par and pendants. So the par 38s light the shallow parts and the pendants the deep sections. I think it works well. The center back par 38s come on first for ten hrs total. I have some side lighting that comes on for 8 hrs. And then the monster comes on for 6. I will try to get a shot of the three sets of lights tomorrow. Today I definitely can't be home when they come on (2, 3, 4)
