hello all, well i bought a really nice peacock mantis shrimp today, he's about 3 1/2 inches long and fat as well, my question is will he be fine in a 14gallon oceanic biocube for the mean time while my 30 oceanic cube cycles, right now he's in my fuge from my main 37 oceanic tank, just not to fimiliar with size tank he needs but ive heard of alot of ppl putting them in 10gallons and 15 highs, don't want to put him in there if it aint right, anyone with some info would be great!!

for now it's fine. no worries about glass either. A full grown peacock needs minimum 25gal, so a 30gal oceanic will be fine because biocubes have unusually thick glass

a peacock can reach about 7-8" and will be THICK too, a 30G cube is what i have mine in pretty much (33 cube) and it is starting to look small for her, she is only about 5" too, anything smaller then a 30G cube would be too small and actually putting a peacock in a tank like that would really be a gamble as peacocks are the species that gave mantis shrimp their glass breaking name, and anything under 1/4" glass with a large peacock will be a gamble, he will be fine just dont tease him as the glass on the all-in-one tanks are pretty thin

okay mattyice thanks for the info, he's a big guy and his colors are awsome, i will get pics tommorrow of him/her. im gonna try the 14 biocube for a while then move him to a 30 oceanic cube, i just hope he doesn't break the 14gallon biocube, but we will see!!! thanks again all for the quick replys
