I got the burrow in. Slightly different configuration than I originally posted. I kept the Y and he's made a really cool rubble entrance to it in the back of the tank.
I added about 30# of dry pink Fuji sand and probably about a 5 gallon bucket full of little rubble from when I carved up the pukani.
It's a blast watching him swim around with the rocks, moving sand around and whatnot.
Great looking set-up. It is really fun watching them build isn't it? My Peacock has recently built a small fortress of rock and shell in front of both burrow entrances. He'll probably molt within the next few days.
He's been going to town with the rubble. I'm probably going to put more in tonight. I noticed last night he closed up his burrow so a molt may be imminent.
I added some yellowtail damsels last night and he seemed a bit cranky about the new tank mates so we'll see how it goes.
Saw him for a little bit tonight before he closed up the burrow. All fish still present and accounted for. A firefish seems to think one of the burrow entrances is a nice home. We'll see how that goes.
Everything is all closed up now for the last two days. How long does a molt usually take?
I'm thinking about throwing a small cuc in tomorrow to try and get a little cleanup work done. I'm thinking a dozen or so snails and maybe a bunch of hermits.
Yeah lol. I can't find a picture right now but brs sent me a freakin 75# Boulder..,
I'd ordered extra to allow me to carve it up and make it neat. I ended up making basically two large pieces. The one on the left turned out to be too big after I put it in the tank/water.., that sucked. But, I just ended up cutting it in half front to back and put it back in.
