New Pep: Missing Aiptasia :D

Acclimated my first Pep yesterday with a drip for ~90 minutes and then turned him loose in the tank. He tucked up under a rock and did his little swaying dance until lights out. So when the lights came up today we noticed that an Aiptasia that had been getting pretty big was completely gone. Great! Nice work lil guy. =)

FWIW, you are lucky it survived, you dont drip acclimate shrimp.

i once bought a piece of Fiji LR that had 29 aps. pop-up in less than one week. i got 2 pep's, and in 3 days there was not one in sight.

one month later they mated and my fish had free food when the eggs hatched...hey! thats nature. :)

I'll need proof of that. All sources say that inverts are very sensitive and that dripping is the best way to acclimate them to your tank. The first Pep did not survive and it was not drip acclimated.

I have drip acclimated all my shrimp with only 1 bad result. And truth be told it was closer to splash acclimating on that one. I don't know of a better method but if there is one I am all ears.

I always drip=acclimate mine but only until the salinity gets stable to what the bag is....also ph shock can kill them if there is a big difference.
