New photos of my baby's!!

Do you think that the one on the right is crowding the other?
There is a wall on the left that it is up tight to.
About a year and a half ago the both rotated 90deg.
Seems like after that the one on the right has had that"V" shape.
Think this could be the issue?

6'' from my halide. Do you realy want them closer? Don't forget the main shell on the bigger one is about 6''x4''.

those clams are about 6" off the bottom of the tank. a 65g tank is 24" deep, so that puts the clams about 18" from the water surface, add another 4" to 8" for the height of the light and your back to 22" to 26" away from the light source

O.K.
They may be deeper than I said, but 3 years down the road I don't know if I want to move them.
I realy think the one on the left is just cramed for space and has to stretch out.
do they both look like there reaching??
The Maxima is on the bottom right, below the 2 leathers.
That one dosn't have extention like the Croceas.
Does the Maxima not need as much light?

So what kelvin should I go with if I have only 1 150w HQI
(w/2x96 420/460)

Or do I just cut to the chase and get the 2x150 sunpod
W/ 14,000?

I just don't think this one looks unhappy at all.

ultimately you can and should do what you want

I lost my old tang about 3 months ago and things were lookin' a bit green so I did a good scrub down. Thats when I put the Acro. and the Monti. in the overflo slots (Ican see growth on the Acro. already!!)

how have you kept the back glass and overflow so clean and coralline free over 3 years?

I was wondering about this, too. It's the cleanest, 3 year old overflow I have ever seen;) How often do you clean it?

Curious about the lack of coralline, also:eek:

Saltcreep- clams dont "stretch for space" if they're crowded. They stretch for light because that's what they need to survive.

I dont how else anyone can say it- your clams ARE light deprived. Get more light to them. As mbbuna said, you can get a lower kelvin light (which makes "better" usable light for them), or get more lights, or more powerful lights.

Please dont take this an an attack, but are you being totally honest? I find it hard to believe you scrubbed off every last inch of coralline algae. Tang dont eats coralline readily, so that would have nothing to do with it. And if you had these clams for 3 years, and they've quadrupled in size, as you claim, the glass would be COVERED in coralline from top to bottom. Quite honestly, to me, this looks like a new setup. I may be wrong.

I know I, and others, would be glad to help, but honesty is a prerequisite.

I don't know how to tell you.
The tank is not new I put it up when we moved there 3 years ago. I had a 55 but didn't like the foot print.
Its not that hard to keep your tank clean.
And no the tang didnt eat coralline, but green was starting to cover spots and it was buggin' me so I cleaned shop.
I have nothing to gain by telling you my tank is older than it is.

So be it, my apologies for questioning your integrity.

Let me make an analogy as to what I am seeing. Please remember, this is just my interpretation. When you're driving in your car, and the light fuel light comes on, you know you'll need to get fuel, or the car will run out, correct? The car has this little signal that lets you know this. Well, your clams are doing the same thing. They are not getting enough light. So they are stretching out their mantles to try to gather more light. We, as aquarists, can see this, and we should make the same deduction. Well, I better get more light there, otherwise something bad will happen. Our cars will still operate on low fuel, and these clams can live with lower light, but sooner or later, it will be a problem if we dont intervene. I dont think you clams are on their deathbed, but these animlas NEED a lot of light to thrive. When you've been given the gift of your clams letting you know this, I feel you should do what you can. Make no mistake, it is a gift. Look at many of the thread where people clams die QUICKLY from lack of proper conditions. No warning or symptoms, unless decomposition is a symptom. My suggestion is to increase your lighting to these clams.
