Very nice tank in time that will be the next step up in size. Great pics and awesome rock work.

Thanks for the nice replies. I have had my hand stuck in the clam once. I dropped a small rock with some zoo's on it and it floated down at an angle and went right in its mouth (which is about 3"-4" long). After a couple of minutes of it going nuts opening and closing, it calmed down. I could see the rock, so I reached inside of it and it slammed shut. I didn't want to hurt it so I left my hand in it for a minute till it released me.

I'm thinking about getting a couple more fish but think I'm about full.

I currently have

1 Vlamingi Tang
2 skunk clowns ( breeding about every other week)
1 six-line wrasse
3 Lyretail Anthias ( 1 male, 2 females)
4 Blue eye cardinals
1 yellow tang

I was thinking about a blonde naso and a few gobys.
Do you think I have to many fish already?

I have a g3 skimmer, I'm currently in the process of getting rid of all my sps and going to lps and soft corals only.

Thanks
Robert

I love my skunk clowns. As the spawn there always making a grunting noise, I can hear thru the glass. The only problem is they don't like the anemone to eat and steal what ever food I feed it and spit it out.

I've been keeping sps for about 7 years now and getting bored with them. I want my tank to have a lot of movement in it, with sps you don't get that. I'm also having a big problem with calcium with my clam taking up most of it I'm not getting much growth from my sps. I do have a calcium reactor and adding aqua-c 2 part and kalkwasser. I also want a tank that water quality doesn't have to be perfect. I work a lot of hours and when I'm not working the weekends, I'm off to Havasu enjoying my new boat. So basically I what a low maintenance tank. I just got my float valve for top off and automatic feeder.
I was planning a nice closed loop and adding more lights, but with the electricity prices rising, I'll stick with what I got and try lps and soft corals for awhile.

I'm also having a problem with my ritteri moving around and has wiped out a couple of my nice sps colonies.

Also my wife likes lps corals and doesn't mind me spending money on them, she complains when I spend a lot of money on as she says "a colored stick".

If your going to setup a 180 (24"x24"x72") Your going to need at least 250 watt mh. If anything less I would recommend staying with a tank 20" deep. I am running 2 250watts and 2 55watt pc's in the middle. It really needs another 250watt in the middle. I running a Rio 12HF for a return pump that also runs through my 1/4hp chiller. I'm also running a asm g3 skimmer. I've tried a lot of skimmer's and this is by far the best I've owned. I use 2 100 watt heaters. I have a 40 gallon glass sump, thats fed by two overflows in each corner with 2" drains. Just plan your tank right for the future in case you what sps. My tank has 3 holes in the back and 4 in the euro brace so I can add a closed loop later if I choose too for more flow. I have been planning this tank for years, my last tank was a 90 gallon tank, I had all the equipment already that was over kill for that size. That made the upgrade a lot cheaper, all I had to do was buy was the new tank and stand.

Good luck if you need any more help or pictures of my setup feel free to ask.

Robert
