New Pipes

small alien

The fungus is among us.
Greetings friends. I just got 2 yellow multi bands and one apparently female red sea bluestripe from Live Aquaria (not DD). I had them in qt for one week. The bluestripe ate roe but the multis only supplemented live pods. So I decided to put them in the dt with a banded who is a good eater hoping they'll learn and have more natural prey while they do so. Not really able to get a shot of the very cryptic bluestripe. Here are some of the multis.

very nice!

hate to go off subject but how do you post large pictures like that. All I can do is the small attachments which dont show any detail.

Very nice... I would suggest keeping the temp of the tank that you have the banded pipefish in below 74 degrees...

If you use photobucket, use the html link for "IMG". Cut and paste that code into your post.

Both just ate frozen cyclopeeze for the first time! First one ate, then the other. Here's a little vid of the first one.

Thanks, Peka. I will bring the temp down some over the next several days. Maybe shoot fo r 76? Thanks for the thought.

Ive always kept flagtail pipefish at reef temps and not had the same issues that seahorses have with infection. Ymmv.

I called and asked but they said no guarantee. Knowing the species is peaceful toward its own kind, I went for it. I think I got lucky. They're always together. With the bluestripe, since they said no, I just got one as two males wont tolerate eachother. I think I have a female bluestripe as males have snoutbumps and mine does not. Could be juvi though I guess.
