New Powder Brown - Bacteria Infection?

Got a Powder Brown a few days ago from online. He's eating and looking great but he has red cheeks. Not sure if this is from stress, capture or a bacterial infection. What do you think?

I think that's a white cheek (acanthrus nigricans) - not sure of the infection but maybe you could see what they are prone to which could help you narrow it down

No that is not a white cheek, it is an Acanthurus japonicus. What is his breathing like? In all honesty, I don't think his colouring is all that great. I wouldn't say he looks particularly healthy. It looks more like it is in the gut region rather than the gills, so perhaps there is some kind of inflamation there. What treatments has he had so far, if any?

I'd say to do a praziquantel bath, but also I would suggest putting him through a run of Chloroquine phosphate or an alternative substitute ( I think Quinine sulphate can be cheaper, a source of chloroquine phosphate would be in anti-malarial tablets, if you can't find them anywhere else) this would get the fish free of many issues that it could have/be harbouring.

Yes, its a Acanthurus japonicas. Today is its first day of General Cure by API, which is a mix of Prazi and Metronidazole for a 4 day treatment. After this, I will either do a mix of maracyn 1 and 2 for 5 - 10 days or crypto pro (quinine sulfate) for 9 days. Not sure which I should do first. He's not showing any spots or ich like symptoms

Nice looking PBT. Yea I don't have light on my qt, so that was just taken with flash but the fish is kinda pale looking. I couldn't get a good pic, but its a lot more red in person. Still eating and swimming ok so I may just go to the crypto pro and see if the redness starts to go away. Any other suggestions?

What's his diet been like at the fish store, and ask them not to pretend that they feed so-so just to sound good. If they haven't been feeding it at least 50% algae, and a lot of nutritional meaty foods, then that could be why the fish has lost colour. Perhaps the reason it looks so red is because the colouration has been lost, showing the red from behind? I'd offer it plenty of algae throughout the day and some meaty food, like mysis once or ideally twice a day.

Oh and whether you're aware or not, each medication needs to be removed fully before the next treatment starts. I'd say to add polyfilter and carbon and perhaps a water change to remove it for a few days, before going onto the next. Then after treatment, I'd keep him in quaratine for a few more weeks to get him very plump and healthy before adding him to the DT. If he has got dietary concerns, they'll be easier to address whilst in QT than in the DT.

The fish came from Blue Zoo Aquatics, Ill have to email them and see what they were feeding. Yes Im aware that ill need to remove the meds before starting the next.
Update:
Fish now has a black looking bruise on top of body, showing on both sides. Hadnt seen anything in that area before today. Looks like this could be uronema possibly. Fish is still swimming normal, and eating Mysis, spectrum thera-a pellets and little bits of nori if its floating in the water, he wont eat from an algae clip.
