New prop system

Hi,

The prop tank has already some frags growing. I have decided to add a thin layer of aragamax sugar-size to enhace light reflection. Some algae are growing due to Bangaii (18 juveniles) feeding.

Here some pics:

Flipturn88, the glass is 12mm thick.

lizardking38, I started building small tanks a long time ago. If you want to start building tanks start small and than as your silicone skills improve go bigger.

I'm very satisfied with my prop tank and I'm planning to build another right above this one but only 8" height.

Hy Ricardo,

what was the reason that took you to opt for a DSB in your prop thank?

Abraço,

Hi Bruno, I just added a thin layer (1") of aragonite to enhace lght reflection. I'm planning to do monthly water changes (with NSW) to replenish trace elements and prevent nitrate acumulation.

Thanks.

I'm going to take some pics with the new layout soon. Meanwhile I've decided to build another prop tank (82x27x8) above this one that will share the same sump.

Easy way to remember what is hard and soft wood.
Trees with leaves are hard wood.

I'm sad that you live in Portugal.

I used to breed banggai, so I LOVED your pics of your babies! MAkes me ache for mine.....

AND I would LOVE to watch you build a tank.....it looks wonderful!

Thanks!

The prop tank has 2 months old now and is working just fine. Last week I did a 10% water change (NSW) to reduce green algae. All frags are doing great. Even Xenia that sometimes doesn't like new tanks is ok.

I want to make a bigger RO/DI reservoir (glass tank) for auto top-off and I'm planning to build another prop tank just above this one. Same sump for both tanks.
