Jim,
The baby Regal Angelfish looks fantastic! It great to see this incredible fish settled in so quickly. I conditioned and raised this mis-bar from a juvenile the size of a silver dollar over the last 6 months in my office aquarium.

On behalf of the entire staff here at Drs. Foster and Smith LiveAquaria who work very hard to provide the healthiest aquatic life and best customer service, we sincerely appreciate your business and support.

Thank you,

Nice pictures, Im jealous, my little one is finally morphing out of the juvie markings, Ill miss that for sure. Great fish!

Wow Kevin, I have to say I'm honored! The regal has settled in very nicely. It's not hiding at all now, and feeding very well. Which is to be expected, I guess, since he's not exactly right off the bus! Smallest fish in the tank right now, but nobody is bothering him, and he can take advantage of the many small bolt holes for security.

Where is the little guy from? He seems to have a yellow belly.

Jim,
Fantastic to hear he is doing so well and none of your existing tankmates are bothering your new Regal.

The fish is from Cebu, Philippines in the Western Pacific and it is not uncommon for juvenile and sub-adult fishes to have yellow bellies until they fully mature.

Yellow Belly Regal Angelfishes can be found throughout the Indian Ocean. It is not uncommon to see these animals listed as Red Sea Regals (which is inaccurate and misleading as there has been no collection or export of Regal Angelfish from the Red Sea for a few years now).

The Indian Ocean Yellow Belly Regals that are available in the trade these days are exported primarily from East Africa (Kenya), Maldives, and occasionally Sri Lanka.

Good luck and thank you again.
