New RBTA

Here's a pic from 5 mins ago.

As you can see, it is conveniently located between two powerheads!

So it has finally settled in about a 6" away from my MP40W...

I've been keeping the foam on it since I got the BTA but It's annoying to clean every few days, and I have noticed if I don't clean the foam, the amount of flow is drastically reduced.

What do some of you do to protect your nems from crawling into powerheads?

Aint much you can do but be VERY careful. If someone could make a powerhead thatg is anemone safe they would be MILLION AIRES!

Woke up this morning to see that it had decided to crawl up on to a MJ1200.

It got half sucked into the intake :(

I'm trying to let it crawl out as we speak. So sad.. I've barely had it a week and this happens. You'd think that screen on the MJ1200 is fine enough... but no way.

Liik OMG!This happpens alot.Just let it be!

That's the plan right now... You think it will be able to get out of that plastic thing alone?

Thank god it wasn't a constant-on powerhead.

It is the only one in the tank that cycles. The only reason I have it is because my overflow is on the other side and I use it to break up film on the surfrace and push it to the other side.

I so def think that it can move out.Anemones are 95% water. An anemone 12 inches can shrink cown to about 2 inches with no doubt!IMO would just see how it does after a week or 2.Do a serch on here for some more threads like this I promis that you will see many more!

They can come back - This one moved 1/2 a tank away and hid in the roof of a cave for more than a week shriveled up to nothing. It came out ONLY after I reduced the current and is now front and center for a pair of ORA Picassos. Good luck with your Nem.

Thanks,

I've been looking around and have noticed this is a common thing with BTA's...

It's kind of like a catch 22... You gotta leave your powerheads on so it finds it's favourite spot.

Here's an updated pic. It got itself out of the powerhead cover by it'self and is now moving around on the same rock for a new spot.

The Powerhead on the right is off for now. I'm going to get some sponge to cover the intake better.

It's been almost 2 days since the BTA got sucked in the powerhead. It is now resting at the top of a cave.

I tried feeding my it today and it refused to grab the food... It could be because a lot of the tentacles are ripped but it just didn't want any part of it.

Is this a bad sign? What should I do?

IMO looks like its going to heal very fast,However I will sya it may not eat for sometime but never know! But the anemone sbeing upside down is a sign of stress so I would still watch and keep and eye on it to see how it turns out.Do you think you could post pics daily so we could see how it imporves be the day?

Thanks

Sure, no problem... I'll post another one tomorrow. :)

Hopefully it will get better. I don't wanna be in the "I couldn't keep an anemone for more than a week" club. Especially when it was perfect to begin with.

Updated pic from today.

It's in the same spot, still upside down but it seems like it's mouth is pretty open. :(
