Ok I ordered all of the parts to build my own reactors for my new tank
As soon as the part arrive I will post step by step build photos o this project within a project

Brian....Order 3 parts and I will pay for 2 of them....One you can screw up, the second you will get some what straight, and the third I will take it!!! Haha. Let me know how it goes I need a reacor and I am too cheap!!!

I have work with acrylics alot in the past.
If all goes well I am going to have some extra parts made and build them to sale.
I might even attempt a dual chamber calcium reactor in the future.

Ok I went up to glass cages today and got my tank.
Man I thought I lived in the country.
But well worth the trip when I looked at the tank for the first time I really did not realize how big a 48x36 was but man I loves this huge tank.

More to come and due to the massive weight of this tank I am going to go with a steal tubing frame wrapped in oak skin

I am going work on my background for my tank this weekend.
My last tank had a solid black background.
I have decided to go with something with what I hope is going to give it a little more depth.
My hope is that it looks like the tank goes on and on.
I will post some pics when I have it finished.
Looks like it will be at least 2 weeks before I have my stand finished.

My suggestion...make the slits in the top of the overflow box wider. They make them about 1/8" wide and will not flow water very well. Take a router or dremel and increase that to at least 1/4" or 3/8". You will have much better flow going into the overflow that way.

Good advise I was looking at that last night comparing my old tanks overflow to the new one.

Ok this is what I am thinking about doing for the background
I had a poster print done and cut it in half to look at it before I have it printed on the glue side of the vinyl to be applied to the tank

Sweet background. Now you have to remember not to cover too much of it with your aquascape and keep the back glass really clean too.

Wow, i love the background. Can't wait to see it with water and rock. My shadow box background on my tank is removable so that I can work on it or change it, so if yours ends up looking incredible, I may have to get that background from you to try.....

Ok I got some new toys in today and I am gonna post some pics of equipment I am swapping over from the 150

Calcium reactor

Mp40wes x 2

Apex, WXM, Breakout Box

New Tek 6 bulb T5

Now my bulb selection for the 6 bulb

Now the 8 bulb that is on the 150 for now

Bulbs in it are

2 pure actinic
2 actinic+
4 aquablue+

More to come but for now I got to work to fund this build lol
