New regal buddy, just wanted to share

Here's a video of probably my best LFS find ever. This little guy is maybe 1.25" that's a 1.5" PVC fitting for reference.

Soooooo. I have this guy about a few weeks in a acclimation box in the DT. It's eating well, but just not ferociously. Reminds me of a kid building a mash potato fort :twitch:

I'm concerned about turning him loose in the DT, not because of aggression but because of feeding time in there looks like a chummed frenzy.

Will he get enough to eat? Can he sustain himself by supplementing with what he picks off the rocks?

I'm puzzled....

I wouldn't release him if he is fine in Box. Just keep him there and fatten him up.
Why move him if he is eating there but not ready enough to contend with the DT fish?

Although, an acclimation box is a very good idea for people who can't QT. Fattening the fish up is a very, very good idea in all circumstances..

Usually Regals are among the most reef safe angels. Not including the Genicanthus sp. of course... Although they may nibble.

I have two regals that leave my SPS alone but would destroy my LPS and chalices. I keep those in a separate frag tank. I did a test not long ago where I put some acans into my display and they were at them immediately.

SPS is generally safe, zooanthids almost always not safe. LPS, chalice sometimes on the menu, sometimes not.

That's causing issues. Use the HTML code from the Youtube "Embed" tab.

All juveniles are yellow bellies.
The store didn't know where it came from? I always ask and most of the time they know.
