So I stopped in to check out the new saltwater store today. It’s called Aquarium Architecture and they have a nice set up. Chris, the owner, said they have about 1400 gallons of fish and 1200 for coral. We talked to him for a while and he seemed like a pretty cool guy. They are just starting to get on their feet, but still have a great selection of fish and corals. They also carry salifet test kits! At first it just seemed like they only did set ups, but the dry goods and livestock were in the rear of the store. I really recommend checking the store out! http://aquariumarchitecturellc.com/

I just got back from Aquarium Architecture.

Absolutely great looking shop. Chris is very professional, knowledgeable and has a very clean and well laid out store with an exotic assortment of fish and some of the best looking corals this side of the Skyway, he has a good selection of wild caught, and aquacultured corals.

Chris has had a few clients that were TOTM from his shop up north, and you can see why buy looking at his shop.

Defiantly make the trip down town to see this shop you won't be disappointed.

Man, I'm glad I found this group. I never would have found that place if I hadn't read about it here. Very nice clean store. Chris seemed like a good guy too. I'm sure I'll be going back, and it's definitely worth checking out. Looking forward to meeting everybody on Sunday...

Looking forward to meeting everybody on Sunday...

Make sure you wait one more Sunday before you head up to Marine Dreams to meet us.

Also, do you know if they still had the pair of skunks or allardis in there?

I was just there. and got a few really nice pieces.

The skunks were $120 for the pair, they were the largest skunks I have ever seen.

they are getting more fish tomorrow and corals on Friday.

Thanks for the heads up Corey, I didn't take note that it got pushed to the 28th. I guess I'll see everybody then...

Stopped by and was really impressed. Although I'm no longer into acros they were his most impressive corals. The colors were more intense than most of the photoshopped acro pics offered online.

BTW, I mentioned the club and he said he could do club discounts. Where are those membership cards ?

We were in there today and picked up a Pakistan Butterfly and a pair of Orange Spotted Gobies. Great looking fish. I am still drooling over the pair of pink skunk clowns. I hate not having a tank that is clownless. I will try to post pics sometime..

I was just visiting my parents in Florida and I had to check out Chris Jessen's new store in Sarasota. It was amazing just as I had expected. He owned a store for 10 yrs near my house in CT and the CT,NY and Boston Reefers really miss it! He sold it and it just is not the same. Anyhow, the dude really knows his stuff when it comes to Reef Design and Maintenance. His rep up here was outstanding. He had hundreds of accounts and a sick store alwaysd stocked with quality Corals and Fish. A bunch of his customers were TOTM. New store is just as cool on a smaller scale. Awesome sps and rare fish as always. Very high end. Nicest store I have seen in Florida so far. www.aquariumarchitecturellc.com. Best of luck Chris!

This is the store we`ve al been wanting. Chris seem to really know his stuff. Very nice selection of rare fish an the nicest reef I`ve ever seen. A real must see!! Eat your heart out Tampa.

I don't understand why the stores in florida are so behind when it comes to corals and such. The stores in the northeast just bury any florida store i have ever been in.

"Upnorth we used to do it this way! You crackers dont know how to do it!" Thats the mantra of Northeners. At least thats the way it comes across. Most of us are either from the North or our parents were, but it is the case. Yes, They probably do have the occaisional fantastic store, and they do down here too. I have been in many in Florida, just not in Sarasota that would rival some bigger reef stores. Its a hard market here and many places dont jump right in like Chris has, and go out of business before they really start doing it right, just because of the compitition. Lynn and I walked over to Chris's store and it is a nice one. Very good fish and coral selection. He's very nice and easy to talk to. I am sure his place up in Conn. was fantastic. Hope to do some business with him soon. Steve.

OH my God, don't get me started...Steve I know where your heading....Now if all those northeasters would just move back home we could have our state back....Serioulsy, I would take the old poor tourist industry dependant state back any day...
110% 45 year old Cracker here and PROUD of it...

You Floridians kill me.All I was saying is the majority of stores in florida "of which I have owned a house in for 20 years" suprisingly are not as serious about the hobby as we are up north. You guys are lucky to have someone like chris who has devoted as much of his time and effort into this hobby as he has.He is a great guy with a ton of knowledge and we will miss him up north.

Sorry for my rant Deuce..Heck 20 years, your are practically a Cracker...Wait you still say "we will miss him up North"..you sure your not faking it and living up there...
By the way Ihave not visited this store yet, but will someday soon and I am looking forward to it...
