New Skimmer and sump

my question is, what do i need to look for as far as setting up my skimmer. the only 2 things i can adjust is flow into the skimmer and speed at which it flows out of skimmer. any pointers would be great. you can see the skimmer at teh beginning of the video, only been running about an hour...thanks

looks good. I know nothing about those skimmers so I cannot help at all.

On the skimmer we won at the swap, it took a week.

yea being it's new it might take up to a week to break in so adjusting it now and fooling with it is kinda pointless.....ya might have to just set it so the bubbles are high enough to start making it into the cup almost and eacg day or even sooner be checking it and lowering it but im with lin on this one and dont know much bout those skimmers

we was told to leave it wide open and as it gets slimed it will rise.

its already spitting out a nice green substance, however it just lost what little head it had on lit

ahhhh i see....well it's still breaking in though so it may not do that again til a few days from now....just keep an eye on it cause ya would hate for it to suck out too much at 2am and have water all over the place lol

Just leave the Wedge Pipe open for a couple of weeks and then start making minor adjustments to get it where you want it so skim . You can set it to run really wet or very dry and get a lot of sludge in the neck or just light colored tea in the cup daily, Depends on how much you feed and how you want it to skim (Wet Or Dry) It's pretty simple but until the parts slime up with bacteria it will be a waste of time trying to set it before this takes place. My new ATB took 3-4 weeks before it really started to pull out dark Black sludge and dark liquid in the cup. Just be patience.
