new skimmer

well, i finally made up my mind. i am going to purchase an ASM G-3 protein skimmer for my new 120g tank. does anyone currently use an ASM skimmer? if so, are any of the mods necessary? i really don't want to do the re-circulation mod, but have considered the gate valve mod because it is supposed to make it easier to adjust and direct the water return. although, alot of people run their skimmer stock and are happy with the results.

I ahve the Asm g6.

I would get the gate valve mod if you are going to get a recirc mod.

It needs to be in a steady depth of water, if not, then the gate valve modification is the most important.

well, it is going to be in my sump, in the first chamber, so it should have a steady depth of water.
