New Squamosa

Keeping it Simple
Hey everyone! I just bought a sqaumosa at Reefscience a couple of days ago. I actually ended up travelling there to see the clams. Anyway, Chad was super nice and gave my girlfriend and me some good deals, even got a free monti frag. :) (The clams were a little too close to the corals for my liking so I moved them around for more space) I know the pattern isn't anything special, but I really like him. :)

Let me know what you think!! (I've tried to move the Crocea into the rockwork, but he just keeps soming to same area)

The squamosa is approx. 6-7". When I got that frogspawn, it was only one head. A year later, it has 7! :)

doesn't appear to be a blue ( from the first top down pic ) but has some beautiful blue on the fringe of the mantle.

nice clams, your whole tank looks great :)

Thanks for the compliments guys! Like A4twenty said, it is definitely not a blue. It would be awesome to have a blue, but I'm perfectly happy with the pattern he has. :)

E30 E T A: They're in Apex, NC. Chad is super great to deal with and more than helpful! The prices on his squamosa's are amazing (compared to Clams Direct), and they're all looking really healthy!

I do like Clams Direct as well though; Barry is great to deal with too! Quite the selection on Croceas and Maximas! :)

Nice squammy! But how did you manage to keep clams and mushrooms under the same light? My green stripe shrooms never expand because of the strong light from my 175 MH. Some even melted.

I spent quite a bit of time acclimating all corals to my 150 HQI MH. I knew most of my corals didn't require this light intensity, so I needed to have a long acclimation time planned out. I didn't add any clams until the acclimation time was over. I am very grateful that nothing bleached or melted. Hope that helps. :)

My girlfriend and I just bought two clams from Clams Direct and received them yesterday in the mail! I cannot seem to get a really good picture that is true to the color of both. The left one has a blue ring on the outside of its mantle. Here's some pics:

I'm telling ya, I think I like clams more than corals. :)
