John from Yourreef.com is finally opening a store!!!! Stopped by the location today to check it out, in the shopping center on the corner of Cirby and Vernon St in Roseville (it's only 3 min from I-80). He was working on ripping out the carpet and old walls. The store used to be a cell phone/stereo store. Great location.

John's plans are very exciting (you think he has a lot of coral now, you've seen nothing yet). Think bay area stores, with great service (you all know how John is) and very clean (think no dead fish/coral in tanks, no algea, clean walls etc.). He said he should be opening sometime in early to mid March. He's planning on having a big grand opening and ribbon cutting. He didn't specificly say but I'm sure he'll have good sales too.

Here is the location-

Thats next to the deli and kirby vacuum store. Is an excellent location, with lots of traffic!Best of luck John.

I got some frags from John back in May and his selection was great then! I've simply got no room for any additional corals at this point and am fragging corals to keep them from killing each other. I really am looking forward to John's store. :)

I think if anyone can pull off a successful retail store it's John. Running it from the hobbiest's perspective, if you offer quality livestock & drygoods at competetive prices, courteous AND knowledgeable staff who can help you make the right choices, and no dead or dying fish doing the backstroke in the tanks, you're already ahead in the game. Do me a favor John and don't sell any plastic plants. ;)

So I don't want to hear anyone complain about the prices at this new store if you see the prices higher then they were when it was run out of a home.

Update on the store:
I went over there tonight to see the progress, All the carpet has been removed, walls had the texture removed and walls were put up to make a back room for filtration and storage. John told me the next things involve a lot of painting (I doubt he's looking forward to it).

He showed me the plans for the layout of the store and it looks very impressive.

Wow, this is awesome news! I can't wait to see his store. We have had only quality experiences with John in the past. I'm willing to pay a little more for my fix to see it run out of a good store with an even wider selection.

Ok, everyone take a wild guess how many tanks John is ordering for the store (for display not for sale)

I take it Glass cages is bad??
I was just about to order a 30G tank from them this week, but they never answer the phone?
Sounds like I should stay away??

Don't stay away, RUN AWAY!!!! VERY FAST...

Basicly very bad customer service and very sloppy made tanks. Although a 30g, being so small, might not be that bad. You can get 30g tanks cheap anywhere though so I would look else where.
