hey guys im gonna be bulding a new stand and since im doing that i will make me a bigger sump using my same idea of my 10 gallon sump which is the skimmer/overflow drain area..... 3 baffles....return area...... 1 baffle and fuge area my question is what would be the best if not better measurments to have each compartment set at? thanks guys

That's a hard question to answer. I set my baffles at 2" apart. and the intake area is 4", i have a huge return area and my ref is a 14" deep tank above it. Of course my sump is 36" deep so i'm able to get away with that.

I would just keep in mind the amount of flow you want to go threw the sump and also you want to keep it easy to service (dont make the baffles to narrow to reach the bottom with something)

I read somewhere that a ref should be about 12" deep, so i did 14" deep that way i can have 2" of sand in there.
