New Tang I got

I just got me a nice looking Powder Brown Tang so I thought I would share my happiness with ya'll!
Hard to get a picture of the guy as he won't stop moving around!

And a vid to show him off a little more.


The cleaner shrimp really seems to like him.
And would somebody tell me if cleaner shrimp will eat the Ich parasite off of tangs, as my dad "finds it hard to beleive" that they do. So I would just like to show him that they do or that they have the ability to!

Cleaner shrimp do clean parasites off not only tangs but all fishes in the tank. When I had my powder brown the cleaner shrimp set up a "cleaning station". The tang would swim over to the shrimp shrimp would climb on the fish and the fish would just kinda hang out til the shrimp jumped off. Really something to see, it's kind of amazing.

I have noticed him being cleaned for a few seconds, I'm sure he'll open up more once he's settled down for a few days!

Now I get to shove that in my dads face lol, thanks glaspie!

That's a nice fish. I had one for awhile in my tank. He does a good job of cleaning up the algae in the tank and he loves nori.

I sold him to Illosingit after he got bigger and started attacking my hippo tang.

seaweed. sold in asian food stores for wrapping sushi.

Nori is seaweed sheets, it's used for wrapping sushi and such.

ok so nori is the brand name? I have 2 bags of seaweed sheets that I've had for awhile when a yellow tang i had didn't make it. But if this nori stuff is cheaper i'm all for it!

Huh. I thought yellow tangs were bulletproof. Nori is not a brand name. Seaweed sheets basically equal nori.

I would love to have a tang, a convict, but my current tank is a 55 and I dont know how long one would be happy there. The 75 thats going up is for predatory animals, so I KNOW it wouldnt be happy in there for long

You can buy it at any asian store. I get mine at Wongs on 100th in Clive. Around 100 8x8" sheets for 8 or 9 bucks.
