I like using baking soda for my alk but I gotta figure out exactly how much to add each day. Using Randy's magnesium formula, it took me 200 ounces to raise my magensium up.

if you get mag chloride i dose in equal parts. three tablespoons a day of each.

I have mag hexahydrate and than I mix it with the epsom salt. I'm running a bit low though. Amazing how fast a 50 pound bag goes.

I will be doing frags packs again. Alot of my nice pieces browned out on me some so I want to make sure they are colored up again. Mainly my pink mille, green slimer, and some other pieces.

I'll post here when I get some frags available again once I feel everything is situated.

Next time you get a 50 pound bag let me know, I'd go in on it with you. I do randy's 3 part with it and I go through a lot to keep my levels good and high.

Try harvey salt...that is were I get my magflake 50lb bags from. The shipping is not that bad. I have been using the tetra calcium for a few months now and so far it is working great.

I use harvey salt as well. I tried to email one of the sponsors on this site that deals with it also and they don't apparently respond to emails.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. I see they have Peladow as well. Have you tried that for calcium ? It's supposed to be the same, or similar, as Dowflake if I remember correctly.

It is still a made by dow...I believe and it will have the same problems as dow flake now.

Yeah, but I've been reading there's no evidence that elevated bromine causes a problem, and some are using it. Just a thought....
