New tank build

I actually did in my tank crash, but before it went I got a few frags out to some friends. I now have it again and it's cool knowing that it came from the one I once had.

^^Thanks man!

Today I recieved my new sump built by Advanced Acrylics and man this thing is sweet. I was expecting something nice but this thing was way above my expectations. John made a skimmer box without me asking, which I needed and he also put plenty of extra probe holders and dosing line holders. All of the dosing containers and top-off are built into the symp with hindged covers for them. Here's some shots of the sump.

Thanks man! I'm so happy with it and how I don't have to have the jugs and top-off container anymore. I still need to get all the dosing lines hooked up and wiring cleaned up, but that will wait until tomorrow.

thanks for meeting up with us the other day, I wish we weren't cutting it so close, I would have loved to see your aquarium... oh well, another time :D

No problem!! It was definetly a close call but it all worked out just fine. Next time your down let me know and you can stop by. Did you end up with any new corals on the trip??

yep, I got the following

a Jawbreaker type mushroom
neon green nepthea
Tyree/Reef Raft Purple Dragon Eyes
Reef Raft Pink Floyd
ATL Jolene's Red Table
Greg's ultimate Efflo

What I lacked in quantity I made up in quality!

The Joleen is such a sweet piece once it grows out. I have a good size price and it's one of my favorites. Looks like you guys had a successful trip them. Let me know about that chalice we spoke of and if you can get some pictures of it that would be cool.

Well, the tank has been up for a bit over 8 months and I've been very happy with all the growth and looks of the tank. I've had a few ups and downs but it's all part of this hobby and expected. The new sump and new skimmer have made things run a lot more smoothly and the looks of the bottom area is much more appealing to the eye. I've added close to 40 different sps and a handful of zoa's, palys, chalices, and some softies. Here's two pictures I took recently with all the lights on that I thought I would share.

I sold a few dry items I wasn't going to use and a frag and then spent all from that on some new t5 bulbs which I will use in Feb when time to change bulbs. I like when that happens; basically you trade what you don't need for what you do need. As for livestock, Brent (chefzilla) cut me a frag of his red dragon in exchange for some zoas. I got a nice frag of my clementines from Danny (eswgato) and a one polyp frag of an acan (it looks to have some potential) and a frag of a micromussa. It was a great time Bryan. It was so laid back and fun.

That's always a plus. I try to get a few frags together whenever I need to get dry goods for the tank. I find that I get in less trouble when I can say the tank paid for it as ling as i use that line sparingly. The pictures they posted up of the frag swap looks like you guys were having fun. I wanted to go but was in San Diego all weekend.
