just got my first reef nano set up 24wx16hx12d inches , 30lbs aragonite sugar substrate , 10 kg matured live rock , 2 koralia nano's on wave maker (soft switch over), red sea prizm deluxe skimmer , boyu 150w mh luminaire. sg 1.025 , ph 8.2 , ammonia 0 , nitrite 0 , nitarte 5 ppm, live rock went in thursday so today is day 5 , only readings that have changed is nitrate which went like this , thurs 0ppm, friday 0ppm, saturday 5 ppm , sunday 10 ppm monday 5 ppm and tonight 5 ppm again could it be cycled already ?

2 more days passed readings still exactly the same .
Halimeda is now growing from one piece of live rock and starting to get brown diatom algae .
also small feather caulerpa growing on another rock
a few small feather duster worms now showing as well as some small snails and starfish .
any other views on if cycled or not ?

Your tank is probably cycled, but cycled is a very relative term. I'd wait at least 2 full weeks before adding a clean up crew, and then at least a month before adding fish. Even if your parameters look good now, your tank may not have a sufficient supply of nitrifying bacteria to handle an increased bioload.

By the way, I'd try to remove the Caulerpa while you can. That includes breaking off the piece of rock it's on to ensure not the slightest bit of it is left behind. It's a very invasive macroalgae, and once it takes hold, it's almost impossible to get rid of.

i'd wait 2 months atleast before adding anything except clean up crew, you won't start to see pineapple sponges and bivalves till after 1 month atleast. which are a major part of filtration

all good advice and thanks but i never said anything about adding livestock yet i just wanted your opinions on if it was cycled yet .
anyway readings as taken a few minutes ago
s.g. 1.025
PH 8.2
ammonia 0 ppm
nitrite 0 ppm
nitrate 0-5ppm
calcim 440ppm
phosphate 0ppm
alk 12dkh

what would be a good choice and quantity of clean up crew for this tank ?
