New Tank in Roanoke

Hello. I have been out of reefing for several years since moving from Oklahoma. My family and I have been in Roanoke now for a year and a half and are going to stay. I started a 28 gallon JBJ nano cube with 150 watt hqi and 36 watts of PC.

It is currently cycling but I was excited to see others here in Roanoke with similar interests. I used to run a 80 gallon reef with sps, lps, clams and other polyps & mushrooms. My partners and I area also planning on putting a salt water tank in our new office in the Bonsack area as a dividing wall between the kid and adult waiting areas.

Couple of questions, are there any other stores within a several hour driving distance that are worthy of a visit besides UA (I like them fine) say Greensboro for example? I am mainly curious.

Also, If anybody is interested in going in on an online order in the future let me know since I will be beginning to stock my tank in several months.

Welcome to the area! There is a incredibly great group of people in this club, and I am sure you will enjoy your stay.

welcome to the area,
there are two stores in christiansburg that sell saltwater, C&P Pets and Zooquatic. Zooquatic sells ora stuff and has a few pieces of sps. C&P has less lighting but still a good selection and healthy fish.
havent been to any stores in greensboro but have a friend down there i could visit if you find any.

I have a guy in MD near baltimore that has a bunch of stuff, look up my old pic post of "massive set up" or something like that, i cant remember what i called it.

anyways post up some pics always love to see em

I know there are some killer stores in Richmond which is 3 hours away..... figured you'd drive there if you'd hit Greensboro. I think it is called Atlantis but I'm not possitive on that.

Welcome to RC and to the valley. There are always free corals to new member.
Yep, Atlantis Aquarium and Fish World are worth the drive imo. Greensboro used to be a good place to go but with new owners they went down hill and I have not returned since. As far as online ordering, Sunny @ Mr Coral has some great stuff and shipping is cheap being as he is in MD. Once in a while we try to do a bulk orders on clean up crew and such to keep cost down.
Keep posting and there are always guys willing to give a helping hand.

Welcome to the area! As Ade said Atlantis Aquarium in Richmond has lots of good stuff. Let us know when you ready for some corals. i have plenty of free frags as do many others.

Welcome to the greater Roanoke Valley, I think you will like the area and I 2nd what Ade said about the LFS's
