New Tank Light Question

I just purchased the IM SR Pro 80 gal - It is 47 inches long and the tank is 16 1/2 inches deep.

My question is, will the following light system work well ---

Orbit Marine 36"- 48" IC LOOP PRO Dual LED System w/HUB
It is on sale from $400 down to $315

I plan on having softies and some frogspawn/hammers

Any advice?

Or could two prime 16 HD from Aqua Illu. work?
It is a shallow reef tank at 16 inch depth - and the "power output" of these are rated for 24"x24" .... so two of these are 48 inches and my tank will be 46 inches ... ??

That light fixture used 0.5W LEDs and is good for really shallow tank and low light corals only. While it may keep corals alive, they will just survive, not grow and thrive. If you dont need any of the features like WiFi, app control, moon/dawn/dusk light and so on, look into Viparspectra 165W units. 2 of those over that tank will grow any coral you will want (including SPS) without issues, and would be cheaper than OM on sale.

If you want features, that brings prices up. Just keep in mind that none of those features will make corals grow better, they are strictly for your enjoyment.

Thanks for the replies !
I almost went with the vipers but I kinda want a few of the "œaccessories" so I'm looking at the IL

If you want some of the features, look into Reefbreeders Photon V2/V2+ units or Noopsyche K7 Pro II. 2 different units, but both have lots of features you may be looking for. Photon, you would need 1 unit, as it spans length of tank, NP you would need 2-3. 2 should be good enough for softies and lps, 3 would be good for SPS as well.
