New tank overflow

I just picked 2 used 150gal tanks for my new saltwater fish room. One of the tanks is a older tank that has 3/4in glass. This tank is drilled on the bottom and has a corner glass overflow. The top of the diagonal piece of glass that creates the overflow box doesn't have the teeth that you would normally use. Should I replace it or try to cut teeth into the glass. Also, does anybody know if they used tempered glass back then, the tank is over 20 years old and weighs around 400lbs

Good luck cutting teeth into glass. The overflows dont need teeth for them to operate normal
