New tank

I was thinking of starting a new tank nothing to big and nothing to small im thinking of somewhere between 29-40g. Before I start would like to get some input on what I should use as far as filtration i.e canister filter or drilling the tank and making a sump, skimmer lighting etc. I plan on keeping it a softie tank with some fish. Thanks in advance

anyone had any luck with a 20 long with a sump?

The problem with a 20gallon would be the size/sump size. A 20 gallon is not going to be very stable and it will be difficult to find a sump that will hold all equipment ( skimmer/fuge/ return pump ). It really will not be that much more for a 40 breader. Look on CL for a reef ready they come up all the time. :D

If you're only approved for a 20g then I'd go with an nanocube or aquapod 24g. But FIRST I would explain to her that a 20g is VERY limiting in terms of the number and types of fishes you can keep.
