Don't ask me, I'm wrong.
Everything is going really good with the new tank!!! I wanted to get some pictures up and possibly ask a few questions.
Its a 72 gal bow front (Thank you Justin), with a 30 gal sump. It is using a mag 9.5 for the return and one MJ 1200 modded for extra flow. The sump has a 5 and a half inch deep sand bed and cheato. As well as a homemade carbon reactor and very soon to be homemade calcium reactor and a corallife skimmer.
The tank only has about three inches of sand maybe a little more in places. And for the moment only has about 40 pounds of live rock and twenty pounds of base rock.
The tank has been set up for about two and a half weeks three weeks. It was filled with about half the water from my old tank and almost the rest was ocean water. All the sand was live sand. there have been three reef chromis in there since day five and doing well, I put a small kenya tree and small bit of pulsing xeina in there just two days ago.
A couple of questions, how long does it take for the deepsand bed to start taking effect. Do I need to wait till then to finish moving the rest of stuff over, how long in general? Where should I put my mj 1200 in the corner on the side? And last and possibly most important, The rest of my rock is fairly large and one in particular has two anemones on it as well as star ployps, and frogspawn. I have always moved coral under the water never putting them in the air at all. I am not going to be able to do this with these. So is it okay to just pull the whole rock out of water will the anemones be okay???
thanks to everyone that has helped me with this project i am on the home stretch WOOHOO!!!
