New Tinker's Butterfly Not Eating

I finally was able to pick up a Tinker's on Diver's Den and put it in QT three days ago, unlike the other two butterflies I have (Semilarvatus and Fasciatus) he still hasn't starting eating. I've tried clams on the half shell, mysis shrip, nutramar ova and Roger's Reef food and he shows an interest but hasn't eaten yet. Any thoughts or advice?

AHHHH!!!!

YOU GOT IT?? Man, I got the email and went to buy and GONE!!

Congratulations, maybe I will be faster on the trigger next go around. I know it sounds wierd, but you might want to try a freshly opened marine flake. Let it sit in tank water for a few minutes and then dump it in. Lot of my fish like the waving of the flake and the texture.

Could also call LA and ask them what they were feeding before he was shipped out.

I was pretty pumped to finally get one, but now I'm worried about the fish not eating. I will try the flake food and see if I get a response and I think im going to try some live blackworms as well

Which kind of mysis are you trying?...my butterflies definitely prefer Hikari and PE. Also try mincing the clam from the shell.

He is in a 55 gallon QT tank with a pair of Kwazulu wrasses and the temp is at 76. I've tried Hikari mysis, but will try PE and thanks everyone for the input and I will keep everyone posted.

I think 3 days is way too soon to worry; many fish will hold out a lot longer than this.

This. Of the last 3 fish I got, one started eating the first day, the second took a couple of days, and the third took 10 days. I wouldn't even give it a second thought until you pass the week mark.

Try the Hikari mysis and spirulina-enriched brine shrimp as I think DD feeds a lot of those foods. Some butterflies prefer Hikari to PE or vice versa, and sometimes they prefer one to the other. Chopped scallop, shrimp and clam are also good.

DD had the fish eating, so it should do so in your qt as it settles in.
