New to area...

I will be moving down to the Tampa area at the end of this month. This last weekend I came down and set up a 180g tank with some sand and live rock from my 75g and will also be transporting my 75g down on the 28th. I need to stock my 180g with rock and more sand. Where is a good place to go? Thanks for any advice.

If you do a search in the forum you will find plenty of discussion about the local fish stores.

Additionally, there is a list of them on the club website here. Some of the data on there might be a bit outdated so call the store before going there if you're looking for something specific.

my personal favorites are fish and other ichthy stuff in oldsmar and finz of tampa on dale mabry. address for fins should be able to be found on creativeoceans.com it is the old name of the store. ichthythings.com is the first stores website that has hours and address listed.

my personal favorite is Pet Mart. They have 2 locations One in St.petersurg and one in Tampa and you can find address, phone numbers and Store hours on the web site pet-mart.com THey are haveing a really big sale to I just saw the add on the website

There is no need to rehash these threads over and over. The club discussed this issue at our meeting this weekend and we all agreed that there is no beneficial reason for these posts to occur over and over again. We decided that we would put together an objective list of stores and ask to have it stickied in the forum. Anyone asking for store references would be advised to search the forum for past discussion or refer to the objective list.

Both Reef Central moderators and the club members for whom this forum was created do not want to see the negative LFS posts continue. We ask that anyone that is not a club member but chooses to take part in this forum respect our wishes about not continuing these LFS posts.

Since this forum is a part of the Reef Central community, we cannot "enforce" our club suggestion of not allowing these posts. If people insist on posting them (or more correctly responding to them), be aware that the moderators have a short fuse about them. They will not be allowed to get out of hand as they have in the past.

Thanks.
