Hi everyone. Just got this leather. Im a complete newbie to coral keeping. It has been two days in the tank and still hasn't shown me it's polyps. Does it look healthy? Is it a devils hand leather? Thanks

probably is just getting used to your tank..plus leathers tend to do this from time to time,,is a devil hand too...give it some flow too helps with the shedding...new tank?? what are your parameters too...

Judging by the sand, it looks like a new system. Leathers are temperamental when first putting them in. Assuming water parameters are in check, it will come out.

Yes new tank. I reduced flow as it was continuously bending away from the flow. When I reduced it, it no longer bent so I assume it was unhappy with the flow. However I'm doubting there's enough flow.

IME these corals tend to prefer moderate lighting and a whole lot of chaotic flow. This helps to keep the coral free from detritus, algae etc and helps with the shedding process. Having a secure base also helps. Sand isn't very stable so you might want to consider gluing the base to rock structure somewhere. Once all these requirements are being met just leave the coral alone. GL.
