new to hobby, Clowns don't look well.

My pair of clowns are the first inhabitants on my tank, along with 2 green chromis. The clowns are showing signs of maybe having some kind of disease. At first only one clown had it, now I see it on both clowns. Looks like a fuzzy white growth on the chin of one clown and something on the forehead and lip of the other clown.

Can anyone help identify what it is. And maybe a course of treatment if it is something I need to be worried about.

Otherwise clowns look like they are ok, swimming and eating so far.

Look up Brooklynella and see compare it to what you see in the tank. It's been a while since I had any issues with my clowns but years ago my clowns had Brooklynella which started like this and got really bad really fast. I treated them with Formalin-MS which is formaldehyde. I tried to google it but I can't find it for sale anymore.

hopefully its still available because that stuff worked well, if you end up having to use this wear gloves.

I am really not sure, but it does appear possible it could be the onset of Brook. Hopefully someone else with more experience will chime in soon. There is a link that may be of help to you. Good luck.

Most likely Brooklynella also known as clown fish disease.Formalin is the treatment in a quarantine tank.This disease kills fast.Treat asap.
