hey man! congrats on deciding to set up a mantis tank, you wont be dissapointed, i promise. I just set mine up two weeks ago, and let me tell you, its been the best tank to watch ever. I am not on my computer right now(im actually working at my school right now, haha, getting paid to surf the internet!), so i dont have any of the links, but i found the best information on this website in this forum. Just look at all the threads, and just take it all in. Read the entire thread on "Tim"..... not only is it entertaining, but has SOOOO much information in there. As for looking when buying a mantis, take the first healthy one you can find. Its hard to get a hold of these suckers, so if you find one, and it is eating and seems aware of its surroundings, get him! No jumping that I am aware of. When you first get the mantis, try to take some pictures before you put him in the tank (for ID purposes and so you can show some people what he looks like on here) cause most likely they will hide for a while when first introduced into the aquarium. Once they get comfortable with their surroundings, watch out, tehy will rule the tank! Trust me, you wont be dissapointed with your mantis at all, they are so intelligent and interesting. J.R. (my mantis, short for jack the ripper) is by far one of my favorite animals i have ever kept. Let us know how it goes, good luck
