Hello and welcome......don't be shy about asking questions, it will be less painful in the longrun. There are a lot of people here with many years of collective experience, and undoubtly varied opinions. All I can say is research, research and more research before you buy equipment, or livestock......something as simple as getting a tank could affect you down the road, as in not getting one with an overflow for example could make things more challenging for your ultimate goal..........take a deep breath, calmly pull out your wallet, this won't hurt........much that is. Youll either love it or hate it and in six months you can tell us the answer!!! But the best thing I can tell you is learn PATIENCE, because nothing happens quickly in this hobby only bad things........
Did I get all the cliches?
Want some help now? Go through the site and find "the" tank you want to ultimatly end up with, so in a couple of weeks when your asking about lights and if you need a Mag 1800000 pump for your return we all know what you want to have in the end and are all on the same page. Post those here and maybe we can all plan how to spend your money on this thread, so in the next few weeks you can have a shopping list to find used stuff as it comes up or where the new stuff is to be found.
Not trying to be overwhelming in anyway, just trying to get you to that tank you want ASAP.
Again, welcome............I am the resident windbag member....Doug.
Just got the coolest idea, a flow chart for selecting a tank and equipment for new folks based on the type of tank they want. sort of a fishtank by numbers.........:eek1:
